Why is a MacBook laptop more expensive than other laptops with similar specs?

aculy macs generaly have the same amount, but macs are more expensive.one tip about macs:if you are getting one with lots of RAM, then get 1 with the bare minimum amout and buy extra later.it is way cheaper

∙ 14y agoThere are many reasons macs cost a lot. The main reason is probably because they're much faster than PC's and they don't get viruses (unless you run a program which contains one).
also because they have way more work app's plus they look way nicer than other computers

∙ 11y agoApple has developed a fan base willing to pay more. A lot of this comes from the early days of desktop publishing, when Pagemaker only ran on the Mac. That developed loyalty with graphic designers, and Steve Jobs built on that by offering products of elegant design.
PCs, on the other hand, are a commodity item. Generic products see a lot of competitive pressures, and if there is no difference between products, people pay bottom dollar prices.
Quality costs be it a computer or any other consumer product. Want the very best then you will have to pay for it. Even a quality Windows PC is not cheap. The difference is that Windows does not make computers they just make operating systems which are installed in cheap computers made for the masses. Only Apple makes computers running Mac OSX and they are all quality made. There are no cheaply made Mac's.

∙ 12y agoA Mac is a personal computer (PC). There are a range of Macs at various prices. Some other brands of PCs cost less than a Mac. Some other brands of PCs cost more than a Mac. As with most things you get what you pay for. Some people are happy with a cheap PC that may have limited features and functionality while others prefer to pay more for a Mac and enjoy the benefits of a well designed and reliable computer.

∙ 11y agoIts an apple things. Apple computer have also been priced higher then regular PC, why you ask, well who really knows. Apples are very stable and seem to last forever and the people that I know with apples are very happy and seem to have little problems. In fact on of my friends just sent his macbook back to apple for repair. it was a simple hard drive change. The gutted his laptop, replaced the motherboard, hard drive and a few other things. so in turn he spent about 100 bucks to get a brand new laptop.
