Tropical rainforest habitats do not experience the seasons that temperate climates experience. Therefore the trees to not need to prepare for a cold winter by dropping their leaves and storing there resources. Light levels are also less variable around the tropics, meaning day length is fairly consistent --which is ideal for photosynthesis.
