Auburn University does not have two mascots. The mascot of AU is Aubie the tiger. AU's battle cry is "War Eagle!" There are multiple stories as to why Auburn fans yell "War Eagle," and they are easily found both on Auburn University's website and around the web.

∙ 13y ago"War Eagle" is the battle cry of Auburn fans; it's also the title of the university fight song. Since 1930, and continuously since 1960, Auburn has also kept an actual eagle as a second mascot for Auburn athletics. However, the official mascot is Aubie the tiger, since the team IS the Auburn Tigers.
