Engine seal? Valve cover gasket/ seals may contract when ambient temperature is low and expand as engine heats up

i have a 2000 jeep wrangler sport. i does the same whistling or screetching noise when i first start it when its cold outside. when it warms up it stops. i put a piece of cardboard in the front grill and attached it with zip-ties. its barely noticeable and stops the noise COMPLETELY!!! ...leave about 3 inches of space at the top of the grill for proper air flow
