Because the hot air gradually cools causing it to descend. To stay aloft the air needs to be re heated, to do this it needs fuel of some sort and there is a limit to the amount of fuel that can be carried.

Balloons have been built that use solar heating to heat the air but they are rather difficult to control, and no one has yet solved the problem of what to do when there is no sun, especially at night!

How does a pilot of an air balloon make the balloon lose height and why?

im sure theres a pipe or something that releases the gas out of the ballooon, and the reason would obviously be to land? idk bout you but i sure wouldn't wanna stay in a hot air balloon forever

When a balloon is filled with air is heated does the density of the air in the balloon stay the same?

No it decreases

Why air balloon come down after some time?

Hot-air balloons function on the principle that warm air rises, and the balloon mechanism holds onto hot air to ascend. Despite this, the hot air can't stay in the balloon forever, the opening at the top of the balloon allowing a slow and steady flow of the hot air out of the balloon and a gentle descent to the ground.

How does a burner flame cause a balloon to rise and stay aloft?

As the flame burns it heats the air around it making the air less dense than the cooler air above, the warm air particles rise to the top of the balloon and the balloon rises with the air. Essentially a hot air balloon uses a convection current to stay in the air.

How long can a hot air balloon stay up?

As long as they have flue to heat the balloon.

How long will an air filled balloon stay inflated?

The duration an air-filled balloon stays inflated can vary based on factors such as the quality of the balloon, temperature, and air pressure. Under normal conditions, an air-filled balloon can stay inflated for several days to a week before starting to deflate.

What force does a hot air balloon use to keep itself in the air?

A hot air balloon uses buoyancy to stay in the air. The air inside the balloon is heated, making it less dense than the surrounding air, causing the balloon to float.

How does a hot air balloon stays in the air?

A hot air balloon can stay in the air because the hot air is less dense than cool air. The hot air that is blown into the balloon causes it to rise and a burner is used to heat the air inside of the balloon to keep it floating.

How was the movie red balloon made How did the balloon stay in the air and follow the boy?

invisible string

How does the amount of air in the balloon affect its motion?

The amount of air in a balloon affects its buoyancy and weight. A balloon with more air is heavier and may fall faster, while a balloon with less air is lighter and may stay in the air longer. Additionally, the amount of air can impact the balloon's stability and maneuverability.

How long does heroin stay in the air?

Forever

How long can a balloon stay in the air when it is inflated with hot air?

I presume you mean without an airborne heater. The answer is, there is no fixed time! It could range from a few minutes to the best part of a day. It all depends on the rate the balloon loses heat, which in turn depends on the size of the balloon, the weight of the balloon, the insulation and porosity properties of the balloon fabric, and the amount of solar heating, if any, that it receives.
