As a guy, i can tell you that even though we may love you, there are some things that you just can't talk about with women. For example, Video Games and sports. Even though you may pretend to care, and we do appreciate that, no woman can provide the guy sort of answers that we like to hear. Nothing against you, but sometimes guys need to just be guys. Go hang out with your girlfriends instead of worrying about him.
Answer:Because he still not mature enough to enjoy and appreciate female companionship. Some guys never manage to grow up. They never outgrow their need to spend all their time with their friends and never have a close relationship with a woman. If that's not what you want then you need to keep looking. Unfortunately that type of guy is becoming the norm in some circles. They live for sports and never develop any other adult interests or responsibilities. You need to seriously consider if that's where you want to be in twenty years.

it could be just that he just wants to be friends for now and wants to get to know you before he commits to a relationship with you so that he wont be "diving in over his head" and he probably wants to make sure also that you can be trustworthy as well
