It's because she is dead, and not only that, she was a human. To Inuyasha, humans come across as weak and defenseless (But he still loves her.) Plus, it brings back memories form when he was a child, and as that child, he was made fun of by other kids.
Basically, it's because it brings back unwanted memories for him.
