Tsunamis are typically triggered by vertical movement of the seafloor at a convergent plate boundary. Transform boundaries do not produce such vertical movement.
Yup
Transform, Divergent, Convergent are types of tectonic plate movements
Divergent (away from\apart), Convergent (towards) and Transform (side by side) movements.
There are three different types of plate movements that cause earthquakes. The first is Divergent Boundaries (pulling apart), the second is Covergent Boundaries (coming together) and Transform Boundaries.

Tectonic movement.
It was a thrust fault, a covergent plate movement.
the transform plate movement is when the plates are sliding. this causes earthquakes. imagine one plate then across is another. one moves up and one down sliding.

Earth quakes and tsunami (also volcanoes)
Well, earthquakes do cause tsunamis. But only underwater earthquakes. Plus, they have to be a transform plate boundary earthquake(caused by subduction).Any displacement of water will cause a tsunami. In short, some underwater earthquakes cause tsunamis.
