Why has God abandoned me?

There is a lovely poem called "footprints" all about this problem. Sometimes, the hardest times when we feel God isn't there is the very time we're not trying hard enough to talk to him. Prayer is a powerful tool, but any tool gets rusty if you don't use it often. YOu might consider that God is giving you a hard time just so that you'll talk to HIM? It is very hard to really understand, deep in your heart, that God does care for you and that you are an important person to him. Sometimes too, God gives you a hard time to go through just so you will grow. You don't grow and learn in the easy times, it's only in the hard times that you find that you can survive and even thrive. You never know what you can do until you have to do it. God knows that, so HE gives you these times to remind you that you can do more than you ever thought you could. Just remember this...If God led you to it, HE can lead you through it. So HE's there for you, but maybe you're just not ready to hear HIM. In the mean time, here's a hug for you to hold you over...OOOO.

Are u Christian??? and if so maybe your not searching hard enough. God wont just solve everything for you, God will give you opportunities to change your situation. DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU! hope i could help.

You have not told us why you believe God has abandoned you, although we can recognise this as a cry for help. There are very few ways we can provide this help on the internet.

If you continue to believe that God should have helped you but did not do so, you will remain emotionally and spiritually lost. Perhaps the solution is to believe that there was no reason for God to help you. In fact, if there is no God, you are in a position to work on your own answers to the problem and, if need be, seek help from qualified secular sources. We are the masters of our own destiny and should not rely on a capricious, unseen deity, but we can seek help from real people.

Different people have attempted to answer this in different ways:

1) Impossibility of Knowing: Humans cannot know the mind of God and to attempt any explanation is foolhardy.

2) Your Best Interests: God knows what you need at a level far superior to your own. What you might be asking for may lead to a worse outcome were you to have it and God is simply looking out for your best interests.

3) Decision Already Made: Since God already knows everything, He has already made the decision about whether to give you what you seek and decided against providing it.
