- This book is filled with the hard truth about bad things happening to innocent people. It reveals the heart wrenching truth about children sold into various kinds of slavery around the world. This is not a book that takes long to finish, although the message and story are very emotionally heavy. McCormick's use of imagery and details draw a reader in and captivates until the conclusion of the story. I would recommend it to people who like to read realistic fiction about struggles that people face daily in our world.
