Why do you need to be thirteen to join Facebook?

i think it is just because it is an age where you are more responsible (and of course you are a teenager) but also becauseit is very lame for the 12 yr olds like me who is waiting for just over 2 weeks!

Kids under 13 are not allowed to have a Facebook account (according to Facebook). There is a Site designed for kids that is similar to Facebook. They have games and other fun things integrated into their site.

There is also i site called twitter it is kinda like Facebook but i dont now what age you are suppose to be

The reason why children under 13 shouldnt join Facebook is because they don't know how to use it correctly and add a random age that Facebook thinks the child is that age.

Facebook is really for people eighteen years and over but when we look at it the teenagers are deprived of something really great. Ways they could talk to each other communicate with each other so that is why we let children thirteen years and over be a part of facebook.

The limit is 13 because some stuff on facebook is inappropriate for children under 13. There are filtered words and items on facebook.com. Otherwise, Facebook would have no age limit. That is why people who say that they were born under the age 13, can not sign up for Facebook.com.
