well..... everyone knows that coca cola is bad for you and one thing for sure is that it is bad for your health and here's why. It has very low sodium and 100 calories so when you drink and go to the bathroom and pee all of the good things like calcium comes out and then all the calories come in. You can even get obesity and weakin your bones. Coke may even cause calcium loss and brittle bones. Also don't even get me started with phosphoric acid. That's the most dangerous in all of coke so watch what you drink!

There are several problems that have been associated with drinking diet softdrinks. These problems vary from allergic reactions to Aspartame or the fillers used in it to glycol poisoning from a problem arising from metabolizing large amounts of consumed diet drinks, to alleged memory loss due to build up of phenylalanine (which migrates to brain tissue) in those with or inclined to a PKU-like situation.

Coca cola (like almost all sweetened beverages) is bad for you because it delivers such a large quantity of sugar to your bloodstream so quickly. Various sweetened Carbonated Beverages contain sucrose, HFCS, or other sugar sources (white Grape Juice, apple juice, peach juice, honey, pure fructose, agave nectar, etc.) and they're all pretty bad for you.

Glucose and sugars/starches that break down to glucose trigger an insulin spike. Drink enough of them over time, and your body will begin to ignore the insulin (this is called insulin resistance). Keep it up, and you'll have Type II Diabetes.

Fructose and sugars/starches that break down to fructose can be significantly worse. Your liver treats fructose above a certain concentration as a toxic substance and immediately begins to convert it to triglycerides (free floating fats) that are deposited in the liver and also head out to the bloodstream where they significantly increase the risk of atherosclerosis. They fatty deposits in the liver create the same kind of liver damage (cirrhosis) that alcoholics get.

Basically, Coca cola, all sweet sodas, as well as Gatorade and other athletic drinks, most energy drinks, and pretty much all sweet juices increase your risk of insulin resistance, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and atherosclerosis. Keep to drinks that aren't sweet (water, coffee, tea), dilute fruit juices 4:1 with water (carbonated makes for a different dink) or better year, stop drinking fruit juice and just eat the fruit, and you'll be much better off.
