because the GDP for the country is high, the GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product, this is just a fancy way of saying how much money the country produces. GDP percapita is another way of saying the GDP but for one person. The higher the GDP the wealthier the country so England obviously has a high GDP.
But don't be fooled knowing the GDP does not tell you how developed the country is England is a developed country because of things like adult literacy, life expantacy at birth, the amount of people working etc.
Hope it helped

Australia is a single country. It is a modern developed country. It is a Federation of States which up to 1901 were colonies of Great Britain. Its has a population of approx. 21million people most of whom live in large cities on the Eastern Coast. Australia is and island continent. It has no borders with any other country. It has an indigenous population of aboriginal people who were badly treated when Britain settled Australia in the eighteenth century. These people are treated as Australian citizens but many still live in isolated communities in the outback desert regions or in the tropical North.

LEDC stands for Less Economically Developed Country, therefore a country that is mainly agriculturally developed and seeking to become more developed. E.g most countries in Africa including Sudan, Chad, Etheopia, etc...However a NIC (Newly Industralised Country) is a country that has become more developed but still does not quite have the technology to keep this growth under control (like Britain in the technological evoloution 1800's) An example would be Korea and China whilst Japan has become an MEDC as it has the $GNP (Gross National Produce) to go with the countries developed status.
Papua New Guinea is not classified as an LEDC (less economically developed country), but it is classified along with many other countries that also do not meet the criteria for an MEDC (most economically developed country).
