He was the first to sail all the way around the world. Even though he didn't qiute make it all the way, his ship made it all the way arouond and back to his home. That was his greatest accomplishment.

∙ 14y agoFerdinand Magellan was a famous explorer who is credited with being the first to sail around the entire world in 1521. However, Magellan himself actually perished on the voyage during a brief stay on the Philippine Islands before completing the voyage.
