They are almost the same in their sizes , they have the same mass and very similar composition ( made of the same materials ) .

nus is sometimes called Earth's twin because Venus and Earth are almost the same size, have about the same mass (they weigh about the same), and have a very similar composition (are made of the same material). They are also neighboring planets. However, Venus and Earth are also very different. Venus has an atmosphere that is about 100 times thicker than Earth's and has surface temperatures that are extremely hot. Venus does not have life or water oceans like Earth does. Venus also rotates backwards compared to Earth and the other planets. is soVenus Venus is sometimes called Earth's twin because Venus and Earth are almost the same size, have about the same mass (they weigh about the same), and have a very similar composition (are made of the same material). It's very similar in size and it comes close and looks bright, but in many other respects it is very different. The main feature is its thick carbon dioxide atmosphere and its chronic global warming, with surface temperatures of 400-500 degrees C.

Not only is Venus our nearest neighbour, the two planets appear to be similar. Venus's mean radius is 95% of the Earths : it volume is 86%. Both being rocky planets, their densities are similar (Venus = 0.95*Earth). However, environmentally, they are very different. Venus has a mean temperature of 462 deg C compared with the Earth's 15 deg C; Venus has the densest atmosphere of the terrestrial planets, made up of mostly carbon dioxide but with a significant amount of highly corrosive sulphuric acid clouds.
