The bottlenose dolphin is called a bottlenose for two reasons that i see:

  1. It's body is slender like a wine bottle, and
  2. It's nose is round like a coke can.

When a dolphin is referred to as a "Bottlenose Dolphin", than that dolphin is of the Tursiops Truncatus (Common Bottlenose Dolphin) or Tursiops Aduncus (Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin).
its named that because its snout is bottle-shaped
Because their nose is shaped liked a bottle.
They have a round shaped snout and some people have lead to call them bottlenose dolphins because their nose, it the shape of a bottle.
The answer to your question would be because they have a certain roundedness to their snout. Some say it is shaped like a bottle.
