Parts of a liquid-in-glass thermometer?

AnswerThere are a number of different types of thermometers, but all have two basic elements. First, they must have a temperature sensor (mercury, dissimilar metals, etc.) capable of detecting a change of temperature. Second, they must have a means (such as a scale) of measuring the degree of change.AnswerAlso there's a bulb isn't there? So there are: bulb, scale, colored alcohol (or w.e).

How could a bimetallic strip be used to help in every day life?

A bimetallic strip can be used as a thermometer or thermostat. The two metals expand at different rates which will make it bend. You can use this to find the temperature of an oven. When the temperature of the oven increases, the strip will curve and break the electrical contact which make the oven cool down. When the oven cools the bimetallic strip will become straight again and the electrical contact will be remade and the oven will begin to reheat again.

What is Sticky Back Plastic?

If you mean sticky back plastic for books, It's basically a flat, thin strip of plastic with a bit of glue on one of the sides (it can come it any shape, size and colour). Stick back plastic is mainly used for covering/wrapping books with it to make the book look neat and tidy. It comes wrapped around a pole-like thingy so it's easy to apply to a book. How does plastic shredder work?

Plastic Shredder employ two parallel counter rotating stacks of cutters that intermesh at low speed under extremely high torque. As the cam shaped cutters intermesh at close clearance, they cut, shear, tear, slice, and rip apart a variety of materials into smaller pieces typically in a strip or chip-like output shape.

What is the advantage of bimetal thermometer?

What is a bimetallic thermometer?

A bimetallic thermometer uses a bimetallic strip wrapped into a coil. This strip usually consists of either steel and copper or steel and brass. A bimetallic thermometer is a type of thermometer made with a couple metal strips. They have differing thermal expansions that are brazen together. Any distortion in this apparatus caused by variations in the temperature is used to measure the temperature.
