Coming from a home-schooled teenager, No.... Too much learning is not bad because our brain NEVER stops growing & developing. (just make sure your brain gets rest between schoolwork.. youknow.... recess ?) But, I do think a stressfull amount of school work can be taxing on one's body. That is why I work extra hard to stay caught up on my schoolwork... Does this help ? sincerely, Bethany
yes if your to smart 4 your own good that is very very bad
I suppose it could be, but mostly from the social aspect. Teasing, bullying, and other things like that could be hard for many children and teens to try to deal with. Many can't deal with it and that leads to tragedies like school shootings (although this doesn't happen as often as the news will make you think) and suicidal teens. Anyone with these thoughts or feelings, or even knows someone who does, should immediately tell an adult that you can trust will be able to take care of it in the right way and seek professional help. Lots of teens can become bruised from this type of behavior that may last even past graduation.
But some can turn that negative into a positive and be successful. One example would be Tyra Banks, who was teased and bullied a lot by her peers because she was so awkward: tall and skinny. She took being tall and skinny and became a model. Now she is a multi-millionaire and does a little bit of everything.
There are also some differences of opinion in the educational system of schools. Some things are being taught that others don't agree with, and others may agree with it and feel it should be taught in schools. The baseline facts that are taught, however, is the education in schools is much needed for people to be successful. Any kind of education is good education. It is another lesson learned. It is good for adolescents to be exposed to other views, because it gives them an opportunity to think outside the box and choose with what "side" of the facts they want to support.
A lot of inner city schools that have a need for metal detectors and police inside the school daily may be much tougher. This is because there is a safety issue that the parents and children shouldn't have to concern themselves with. Many people feel that school should be the safest place for their children to attend because it is required by law in the US that children attend some sort of schooling, and the option to home-school their children isn't always readily available.
And for those who are considered geniuses, school could hold them back from reaching their full potential. This could cause them to become bored because they aren't challenged enough, and many schools aren't equipped to handle this situation. This is when, I feel, students should be allowed to bypass the things they already know and be able to express and challenge themselves in a more appropriate environment. Same for those with learning disabilities. Many schools are not well equipped for this situation either. They may have some ability to provide for a learning disabled student, but it's usually not as sufficient as it should be. But there is often not much of an option for the parents because some kind of education is required by laws.
In conclusion, the pros of schools outweigh the cons. It may "ruin" a student mentally or emotionally, but not so much physically (unless they were involved in a fight or shooting). It doesn't "ruin" them as far as education goes, in my opinion, as long as the school in question can provide for that person's needs. Any type of learning, even if it's not sufficient enough, is a good thing to accomplish.
Because too much school means too much homework.
school is good for .... go to school
They can because of budgets cuts.
