Cocaine is expensive for several reasons. Probably the most relevant reason is because it is considered a controlled substance, and thus illegal. Illegal products don't have the benefit of working in a free market system which help promote competition, which lowers costs. In addition, the high risks (prison, being robbed, killed, etc) associated with selling cocaine increases the price substantially.
There are many reasons why drugs are so expensive, especially in the United States. 1. The pharmaceutical industry is among the world's most profitable so they charge high prices for their medications. (Public Citizen has the stats to support this claim.) 2. Drug companies spend billions of dollars on research and development of drugs, marketing of those drugs, and for exorbitant salaries of their CEOs, advertising and PR agencies, in-house lawyers, etc., so someone has to pay for it. 3. The U.S. is one of the only industrialized countries that doesn't control drug prices. If you want to find affordable drugs, I recommend -- as I do -- buying from a licensed pharmacy outside the U.S., where drug prices are controlled and MUCH LOWER. You can easily save 30 to 90 percent off U.S. prices, and the U.S. government allows indviduals to do it as long as just for their personal use and with a prescription. The lowest prices tend to be (starting from lower to higher prices) at pharmacies in: India, Israel, Canada, Australia. 'Hope this helps.
Illegal drugs are expensive because they are illegal. It is all a matter of basic economics. The harder it is to get something and the more people who want it, the more expensive it becomes. Making something illegal inflates the price. The dealers have to break the law to sell it and they are risking prison, so you know they will make it worth their while to sell it.
because it is a drug and most drugs are exspensive
You obviously havent tried it...
Cocaine gives you a sudden rush of adrenaline for a few minutes. It can be very addictive, and it is very expensive.

Heavy continuous use of cocaine can result in weight loss but it also has plenty of other, less desirable side-effects such as heart failure and respiratory failure. Also, continuous cocaine use should be regarded as an expensive way to lose what could only be a few pounds in weight.
COCAINE is made by processing the COCA PLANT, native to the Andes, South America. Local people have been known to chew on the leaves for their STIMULANT properties. Cocaine is a narcotic, bitter crystalline alkaloid. Chemical composition: C17H21NO4. When you buy cocaine, it is usually not pure, because that would be too strong. The dealers cut the cocaine with different ingredients, some of which are; nosotol and/or baking soda.---- ----
It's called coca powder. It is made from coca leaves and it is green in color.
I'm sorry, but you have got to be kidding. Even if it did, and outside the fact that the drug is illegal, I would think there has to be a less expensive way to do it. You are kidding...right?
Cocaine Purity Varies from where its from, what its been mixed with, and how its being sold. It can be anywhere between 13% - 95% pure. 95% obviously being the best and most expensive. http://www.usdoj.gov/ndic/pubs07/997/cocaine.htm That link should give you an idea..
Gram per gram, meth will run you more, but a habit on quality cocaine (with each dose lasting 1 to 2 hours) will be much more expensive than a habit on quality Meth (with doses lasting 4 to 12 hours).
Some do. Since all the black market drugs are expensive, not everyone can afford to abuse more than one.
