The waves on the surface of sea may seem to go on for ever. Instead they don't. However scientists want to refer the waves as if they go on and on forever. They called it continuous waves.

Actually, the are just modelling what is happening in the middle of the waves rather than at the start or end of it. So, continuous wave is a scientific model because the wave does not go on forever.

How do you Use the word Particle model in a sentence?

During the life of Isaac Newton, there was a huge scientific debate between proponents of the wave model of light and the particle model of light. This was resolved in the 20th century by quantum mechanics which showed that light is both a particle and a wave.

What is the difference between continuous and pulsed wave laser?

Continuous I assume would mean a constant flow of light from the laser in the form of a wave train. Conversely, a pulse is only a single wave emitted by the laser.

What is a longitutional wave?

A wave is some sort of disturbance, which propagates through matter or space. If the disturbance is along the direction of the propagation (of the wave movement), the wave is said to be longitudinal. If the disturbance is at a right angle to the wave movement, the wave is said to be transversal.A wave is some sort of disturbance, which propagates through matter or space.
