That is a physical change because the evaporated moth ball chemical is still the moth ball chemical, just in a different form.

It's similar to water . . . water is water no matter if it is solid, liquid, or evaporates to a gas.

It is a physical change called sublimation. Whereas most solids on being heated first become liquids and only vaporise (evaporate), i.e. turn into gas on heating to higher temperatures, there are some solids like sulphur or naphthalene (the material in moth balls) that directly go on heating from solid to gas, i.e. they sublime.

Due to slow evaporation , the mothball will eventually disappear. So physically changing the shape and size of the original mothball.

Evaporation of anything is a phase change, and so is a physical change because the chemical identity of the vapor is the same as that of the solid or liquid, i.e. no chemical change.
