Glucose can be seen in urine in uncontrolled Diabetes millitus, when the blood glucose level is higher than the kidneys threshold of glucose reabsorbtion, then the extra glucose gets excreted with urine instead of getting reabsorbed by the kidneys.

∙ 14y agoThe function of the kidneys is to filter out unwanted substances (particularly uric acid) while retaining wanted substances. Glucose is a nutrient, the body uses it. It would be wasteful to excrete it. Of course, there are some diseases which will result in glucose in the urine. Particularly, diabetes melitus.
