Yes, because it says so in The Bible in Isaiah 9.6.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Simply put, God is my dad because scripture says He is.

All those born of the Spirit were born of God's seed (just as humans we are born of the "seed" of our mother and father). Spiritually, one who is born again is born of God's seed and is literally born into God's family. If it applied it could be said that believers have God's DNA. That is the magnitude of the family relationship between God and His born again children. God is my dad.

In John 1:12-13 it says "But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name; which were born, not of blood nor of the will of man, but of God."

In 2 Peter 1:4-11 it says "Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption of the world caused by evil desires."

A:

To be our father, God must exist. Since there is no proof that God does exist, whether or not he is our father is simply a matter of faith on the part of believers.

Additionally:

As stated above, the One who sent Jesus, His Father, is presently the Father, only, of those who "believe" -- those whom the Father is calling out of the world and "giving to His Son."

"...those the Father has given Me will come to Me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God [the Father] who sent Me, not to do what I want. And this is the will of God [the Father], that I should not lose even one of all those He has given Me, but that I should raise them to Eternal Life at the Last Day.

"Then the people began to murmur in disagreement because He had said, 'I AM the Bread from heaven.' They said, 'This is Jesus, the son of Joseph. We know His father and mother. How can He say, 'I came down from heaven?'

"But Jesus replied, 'Don't complain about what I said. For people can't come to Me unless THE FATHER WHO SENT ME draws them to Me, and at the Last Day I will raise them from the dead.'" (John 6:37-44 NLT New Living Translation)

The Bible makes a distinction between those who are God the Father's Children... and those who are Satan's.

"Your approval or disapproval means nothing to Me, because I know you don't have God's [the Father's] Love within you. For I have come to you REPRESENTING MY FATHER, and you refuse to welcome Me, even though you readily accept others who represent only themselves. NO WONDER YOU CAN'T BELIEVE! For you gladly honor each other, but you don't care about the honor that comes from God [the Father] alone. Yet it is not I who will accuse you of this before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, on whom you set your hopes. But if you had believed Moses, you would have believed Me because HE WROTE ABOUT ME. And since you don't believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say." (John 5:41-47 NLT)

Faith in and Believing the Words of Scripture [and acting upon them; obeying them] is the vital difference among those who can call God their Father... and those who cannot:

"For you are the children of YOUR FATHER THE DEVIL, and YOU LOVE TO DO THE EVIL THINGS HE DOES. He was a murderer from the beginning and has always hated the Truth [see John 17:17]. There is no Truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and THE FATHER OF LIES. So when I tell you the Truth, you just naturally don't believe Me." (John 8:44-45 NLT)

God is the Father of those whom He has given, and IS giving, to His Son, Jesus Christ... for now. The rest of the world will have to wait, when they see the Father's Son coming in the clouds. "Seeing is believing," the saying goes. And so it shall be on that Day... when the world sees the Father's Son approaching earth in the clouds with His angelic army... and the great host of His Immortal Children who "believed" from the beginning.

The rest of the world, then, will have a decision to make; whether or not it will be willing to part with its former beliefs for what it now sees with its own eyes.

All the children of their father the Devil [whom Christ will remove from the earth when He comes - see Rev.20:1-3] will have to decide if they want to "maintain" the former false beliefs and faiths of their father, and perish with them -- or "repent" of them and turn to God the Father's Son [whom He shall have just given to Him], that they might attain to the potential adoption into the Family of Christ's Father.

"...To those who are thirsty I will give the privilege of drinking from the well of the Water of Life without payment. And this shall be the heritage of him who overcomes, and I will be his God [his Father] and HE SHALL BE ONE OF MY SONS." (Rev.21:6-7 WEYWeymouth's New Testament)

God is not the Father of all of mankind, yet, because the vast majority of the world worships and obeys the Devil as its father. The world doesn't know it's being deceived by Satan [see Rev.12:9]... but, then, that's the nature of deception; the deceived person doesn't know they are deceived.

Meanwhile, God the Father will continue to give the ones He's calling to His Son:

"For those whom He has known beforehand He has also pre-destined to bear the likeness of His Son, that He might be the Eldest in a vast family of brothers..." (Rom.8:29 WEY).

All of mankind, created in God's image, physically, have the potential to become the Immortal, Spiritually Reborn sons of God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ... but not everyone is, yet.

No. God is immortal, has been there, and will always be there. No one fathered him.
