Why is hurting animals wrong?

My better judgment says not to answer this, but I think it deserves a lodgical and honest reply. Hunting is not wrong, someone trying to push their ideas onto everyone else is though. If you go to The Bible God told Noar that all of the animals on the ark were good to eat, so if that is so then God has blessed hunting for people to feed themselves, plus, if animal populations arn't held in check by some means you get a shortage of food and deseases running rampart though them. So what is more humane. If pacificist worried more about kids going hungry or being abused instead of someone hunting, the country would be better off.

Most people would agree that needlessly hurting others is wrong. There are very few situations where hurting others (humans or non-human animals) is necessary. Most of these situations involve imminent harm to oneself or a loved one (human or non-human). For example, you may be justified in hurting someone (human or non-human) if they were threatening your life or the life of another human. Many people would also feel justified hurting another human if that human were threatening the life of a beloved non-human animal, such as a family dog. But most of us would not feel justified in hurting someone who is of no threat to us or our loved ones.

Unless they're in a survival situation, humans have no need to hurt animals for food, or clothing. In no situation do humans have a need to hurt animals for entertainment. Many people realize that hurting animals for these reasons is unnecessary, and therefore wrong.
