How about just for your own mental health. An obsession is usually unobtainable, right? That for one, should be enough reason to let it go. If it's a person that your obsessed about they probably have no idea. And if they did, they might not be especially flattered. An obsession of any type is based in fantasy not reality......another good reason to let it go. A good way to let go of an obsession is this......every time you think about the obsession tell yourself "No", and refuse to let yourself think about it. This takes work, but over time it's effective. You can also run a dialog in your head that this is not healthy for you. It may be a struggle at first, but eventually it will work. Another thing is to keep yourself occupied. Idle hands are the devil's handiwork. I wish you the best.
