Why do all of the Zelda games have legend of Zelda instead of legend of link?

Because, in the first game, Link goes out to save the legendary princess Zelda. Link generally starts out as a kid only the locals know about, then becomes a hero. Zelda is always well known. It makes more sense that the legend is about Zelda, doesn't it?

∙ 12y agoI think it is because Zelda is the Princess of Hyrule and Link's quest (except for one or two) are to save Princess Zelda, so basically the main plot is that something has happened to Princess Zelda...

∙ 10y agoA common question. The creators of Zelda also made Mario and Donkey Kong. A trend was established between these, the hero would rescue a princess from the villain. Mario was named after the hero, Donkey Kong was named after the villain, so Zelda was named after the princess. The more you know!
