Importantly, the wastes metabolism creates are often toxic to the body. Even if they were not, however, the waste implies there are parts indigestible, and without flushing them out of the system, the body would have to store them somewhere until they became a problem anyway.

They are usually quite toxic to the body concerned. Allowing them to build up would mean a huge risk of fatal poisoning within weeks if not days.
