Aging is a determinant of fertility because key hormones required for reproduction are present at their optimal levels during the peak reproductive ages. Testosterone for men and estrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH are responsible for the proper functioning of the gondas so that the male can produce sperm and the females will produce eggs which mature. As one waits to have children, the amount of damage due to rays (X-rays, and other cosmic rays) to the egg increases. For males, as sperm are produced the repeated divisions will start to yield more errors as the error fixing mechanism won't function as well as it did during prime years. I hope this answers your question. Ajay
