It may seem that winds are stronger at night, but scientifically, days tend to be windier. Nights do seem windy to us because as the world (traffic, people, television, etc) quiets down around us, we begin to hear the wind more. So why are the days windier, then? One thing that causes wind is a pressure gradient, which exists when pressure changes more in one place than in another. This happens mostly in the daytime, when the sun is out and warming different areas differently. After the sun sets, there is less of a chance of such a temperature change. ==In more detail...== In more detailed terms: as a generalization, winds tend to be weakest near dawn and strongest in late afternoon because the colder the ground is, the more of a local inversion you’re likely to have isolating surface winds from the faster winds above (conversely in the late afternoon surface heating allows for more mixing with the faster moving winds above). Winds are not caused by pressure change but by pressure gradient — that is, differences in pressure across space. So heating or cooling can cause winds, but only by changing pressure in one place more than in another, so that a gradient is formed (or strengthened). ==Other causes for wind== There are other wind-causing factors too, however, and these can hit at any time — day or night. For example, winds associated with cyclonic and related frontal circulation are independent of diurnal (daytime/nighttime) factors — you’ll feel those the strongest whenever the associated circulation feature reaches you.
The water and the land are at different temperature. During daylight hours the land heats up causing the air to heat and rise. That draws cooler air off the Ocean to move toward the land. After sundown the land cools off and the water becomes warmer and the breeze reverses.
the land heats up,heating the air, Hot air rises, cold air from the sea rushes in to fill the gap....repeat
It's windy because the wind is just moving air. I am afraid of it but it is just moving air!!!!
Because you are by the water since the water is cold you get a breeze.
windy ,the process of the leaf will quick dry
The windy month is March. i litterally just found that out.
Cool and windy will dry clothes faster. If overcast humidity would be high.
wind rain is where its raining and windy a the same time because it windy the rain will be heavier but will move on quicker
Well, not necessarily, but at least where I live (in northern Indiana) clear windy days are fairly common in the early fall. The conditions behind a cold front tend to be windy and clear. A day or so later it tends to be clear and calm. Cold fronts start passing more often in the early fall. Cold air is relatively dry. When it warms up, the relative humidity goes down, so the post-frontal days are clear and dry.
It is very windy outside today.Scotland is a bit windy.
windy ,the process of the leaf will quick dry
Can you do windy ? No, so it is not a verb ! lol !
Only if its in contact with the wind.
Yes, but if its windy outside your helicopter will drive crazy.
fly a kite. go outside. eat soup. watch movies.
its so windy because its so close to the first layer atmosphere
anywhere so it can`t be seen , and the least outside windy location ,behind a radiator is best
Yes, when it is very windy it is hard to get a good throw off, making your defense a lot easier. Zone defense is always preferable to Man on Man when it is windy.
Punta Arenas is so windy because there are mountain ranges behind the city.
people stay home and sleep because it is realy windy outside
So windy that not many people bothered to measure it :)
