it takes years of practice and alot of mechanical eye-hand coordination to heat up a hollow glass tube and bend it to a custom shape.
Each bend is done alone, one at a time. An "open" sign (4 letters) is difficult to bend up in less than 40 minutes. And that is just the glass bending part. Then it must be properly bombarded (heated up with electricity - enough to kill dozens of people if they got too close to the sign while it was being processed) and filled with the proper gas in order to properly light.
Well made neon can last 20, 30 or even 50 years. I have repaired neon tubes that are so old, they have components that are unrecognizable. And I've been in the biz for more than 20 years.
Neon Transformers are expensive... costing $40 to $110 from the manufacturer. A markup on labor and materials must be made. And neon is fragile, so one must plan on breaking some now and then, and figure that into the price.
A typical neon sign can cost $200-500 for the inside of a business window... and many 1,000's of dollars for the outside of a business.
Electric signs must usually be listed by an independent laboratory as "being safe", be inspected by the city or county or state where they are being installed, and require permits to install. All of this adds to the cost.
Neon signs use high voltage and can easily start a building fire if they are not manufactured and installed properly. A high voltage arc from a neon tranformer can track over air 3 to 5 inches in length and is hot enough to easily light up a cigarette.
becausae on cars it looks really cheep!
the neon is a very common car just the options make it rare i have 2 different ones a 95 and a 98
No, it doesn't normally react with other elements.
A sentence for rare is: Those jewels are very rare, so you must be careful with them.
Neon gas has a break-down voltage of about 70 volts. When the gas (in a neon voltage regulator tube) breaks down, the gas glows red. If more voltage is applied (within sensible limits) the voltage drop across the neon VR tube will still be 70 volts. This action by itself could result in a large current flowing in the gas tube and possibly to destroy it, so a resistor is placed in series with the neon VR tube to limit the current. And this is better for the neon tube as well. THUS a neon voltage regulator tube forms a reference voltage which can be used, with clever circuitry, to regulate any voltage. Other gas mixtures are used for other voltages. There are solid-state devices with similar properties.
No. Neon, as a noble gas, does not react with ANYTHING.
why is neon so rare on earth
neon is rare, but valuable
neon is valuable, it is also very rare.
No, neon doesn't have a taste or color because it is a gas so color is rare and it is difficult to eat a gas. It's possible.

Neon bows are beta but depending on if the headdress is rare it's better but if it's not a rare a neon bow and headdress would be considered at equal value.
No. because neon is a stable atom so it cannot form bond (combine) with any other atoms or moleculesor even it withself. neon is a gas, very rare gas in atmosphere it percentage is 0.0018 or so.by volume so it rare to be found in any common substances, but its found in neon lamps used in scientific laborotary
Neon is in the far right family, know as Noble gases or group 18 and period 2.
1. Neon has no chemical compounds, excepting rare unstable ions. 2. Neon emit a red light in lamps. 3. The melting and boiling points of neon are very close.
Large deposits of neon could be found in a volcano's rock.
There are lots of rare gases in the world. One such is helium and other rare gases are neon and krypton.
I really doubt it-- they are all so rare, and extremely expensive so i don't think so
