Plants need nitrogen in order to grow. Nitrogen is abundant in the earth's atmosphere, but plants cannot use it in that particular form (nitrogen gas). Certain bacteria which reside on some plant roots are able to change atmospheric nitrogen into a form that plants can use (ammonia).

it is important because nitrogen-fixing bacteria change nitrogen into a usable form for animals and plants

we animals need that nitrogen but cannot use it unless it has been processed by nitrogen-fixing bavteria

nitrogen fixation is very important coz it helps in d decomposing ofdeads and decays..and it increases the fertility of soil....nitrogen is a must for fertile soil and healthy agriculture...hence we spray nitrogen fertilisers in crops....theres a long list of importance of nitrogen...from the DNA to beans and pulses...nitrogen is present....:)

most organisms can't use nitrogen in the form it takes in the atmosphere

Plants can not fix atmospheric nitrogen, break it down from its strong triple bonds, so they need symbiots to do this for them. Nitrogen is a basic material needed by all life. Think of manufacturing nitrogenous bases for example.

nitrogen fixation is important not only to animals but also to us, humans because it is responsible for the cycle of air. it turns a useless air into useful air that living organisms benefit.

Why is nitrogen fixation nessecary?

Most plants use single nitrogen atoms, not N2 molecules.

Why is nitrogen so important to living things?

is important because animals don't us nitrogen and they don't make it

What two important chemicals in living things are formed from nitrogen?

Aminoacids and proteins

What is meant by fixed in nitrogen fixation?

Nitrogen Fixation is a process of combining atmospheric nitrogen with other elements to form useful compounds. Nitrogen is essential to living things, but most organisms cannot use nitrogen that is not combined with other elements. This is why nitrogen fixation is important to the continuation of life on earth.

Can nitrogen be directly used by living things?

no nitrogen can not directly use for living

Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorous and sulfur.

What is nitrogen changed into before being used by living things?

lightning & bacterial action (nitrogen fixers).

Which of earth's atmospheric gases is most important to living things?

Both oxygen and nitrogen are equally important to living things. Oxygen is necessary for metabolism to continue. But too much oxygen is poisonous. So the presence of nitrogen keeps the oxygen levels low enough to avoid poisoning.

What is the 6 most important elements in living things CHONPS?

Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Sulphur.

Why living things need nitrogen?

All living things that contain amino acids (that's all of them, because every living thing has RNA and DNA) need nitrogen
