pH is important to the body because thousands, perhaps millions of chemical reactions occur within the body. For you to LIVE, all these reactions must go fairly successfully. For this to happen, certain variables have to be satisfied.

Such examples include pH, temperature, etc.

So, if the pH is too high or too low, these necessary reactions may not occur as they should. Thankfully, our bodies have evolved over time so that we can usually have a wide range for the variables to be in.
