To persevere helps us to stand firm in whatever we are dealing with and to trust that God truly will see us through. In essence, it strengthens our faith, which is "believing" that we will make it through (a situation) without "seeing" some form of us making it through. As scripture tells us, "we walk by faith and not by sight".

There is no real evidence that perseverance is more important or common to Christians than any other group. No matter how you divide the population up - atheist, Christian, Rastafarian, bald, tattooed, short, poor, rich, any racial group - some of the members will persevere, others will give up almost immediately. If not there would be no Christians guilty of wasting their lives and being failures in almost every pursuit due to sloth and lack of ambition.
