Photosynthetic organisms are the only organisms that make their own food using the suns energy. They are the basis of the majority of food chains. Without them primary consumers eg herbivores would have nothing to eat

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants turn carbon dioxide and light energy from the sun into sugar, which is used to fuel plant growth and development. Without photosynthesis, there would be no food production as the only autotrophic organisms that could grow would be fungi and bacteria. Animals that survive by eating plants would die, since there would be no plants.

During this photosynthesis the Sun's energy is used by organism to produce organic material from carbon dioxide and water. This was important for the release of oxygen into the air.

What effect did photosynthetic cyanobacteria have on earth's environment?

Photosynthetic cyanobacteria were the first organisms to produce oxygen. The effect of their oxygen production was that the earth became an environment which was suitable for life.

What are photosynthetic micro-organisms?

But I need this because I have a Science Life test Review and I can't answer {what are photosynthetic micro-organisms?}.

Why is the sun very important to the earth?

inorder to sustain the life of the living organisms..

What is the effect o disappearance of all photosynthetic organisms on earth?

it would be a dead planet.Photo synthetic organisms convert the energy of the sun to sugars etc. Part of this process release oxygen from the compound carbon dioxide. If the organisms that do this cease to exist then there would be no more food produced for animals to eat and the oxygen that we need to breath would eventually disappear into compounds of gasses that are of no use to animal life. In effect life on earth as we now know it would disappear

Why are photosynthetic organisms such as plants so important to life on Earth?

Plants are so important to life on earth because without plants the animal kingdom couldn't survive. Plants transform CO2 into oxygen which allows us to breathe They also provide us with the food we need to eat. We eat fruit, veges etc. And cows, sheep etc. eat plants to get their energy. Then we eat beef and lamb to get energy from them.

Where did life on earth evolve from?

Probably photosynthetic multicellular protists, such as Rhodophyta and Chlorophyta.

Why are photosynthesis organisms such as plants so important to life on earth?

Because it is food producing process for all. Also it gives organisms Oxygen

What was earth's first life form?

Earths first life form may be non photosynthetic bacteria.

Why is oxygen such an important part of the earth's atmosphere?

Oxygen is necessary for most organisms to carry out their life functions.

How would the increasing number of photosynthesizing organisms on earth have affected both earth and its other organisms?

As the first photosynthetic organisms increased in number, the concentration of oxygen in Earth's atmosphere began to increase. Organisms that could respire aerobically would have evolved and thrived. The sun's rays would have converted much of the oxygen into ozone molecules that would then have formed a layer that contained more ozone than the rest of the atmosphere.

What gas has had the greatest impact on life on earth?

More than a billion years ago, the rise of oxygen-releasing photosynthetic cells changed the course of evolution by enriching the atmosphere with this gas organisms has often come at the expense of others. Oxygen has the greatest impact on life, with oxygen life would not exists.

Why is Alexander oparin important to biology?

Alexander Oparin founded the primordial soup theory which is a theory that involves the origin of life on earth or how life may have come to be on earth. His theory states that life on earth may have started with carbon based molecules that eventually evolved or grew into single celled organisms and eventually to more complex organisms such as humans.
