Why is school 8 hours?

The Basic concept of a school is to make a child a good citizen, knowledgeable and practical. However in today's life the main focus is whole n sole is to make a child earning machine. But when we talk about 8 hour school its thought the more time anyone spend in such a place where lives under good people and get proper guidance in life to make it better and acceptable in public, one can be better and prove to be a good personality.

Whereas schools are not only of 8 hours, there are night schools and 4 hours schools are also available. People are getting education correspondence also, but basic behind all these systems are to make a person aware about what is good and what is bad. To get the knowledge to defferentiate beetwen right and wrong, how to behave, how to live in a society polietly.
