The Flammulated Owl has not been formally listed as a threatened or endangered species. It is however considered a sensitive species or a species of concernt to a variety of entities. The Audubon Society includes the flammulated owl on their watch list due to the following:
"Widely scattered across the mountains of western North America, its breeding range extends from southern British Columbia to northern Mexico. Flammulated Owls are migratory and winter from Mexico south to Guatemala.
Further knowledge of specific habitat requirements is needed before analysis of trends can be fully understood. To date, scientists are uncertain of this species' status. Its secretive nature and widely scattered distribution make it very difficult to gauge population trends for this species. It is believed, however, that the population is declining due to increased habitat loss from forestry practices in the mountain west. "
Poachers kill the owls so they can have their feathers to sell. Its too hard to catch a snowy owl and try to take their feathers off, so they kill it.
Happily, the snowy owl is not an endangered species.
It is probably because the forests are being cut down
you did not sat what owl your talking about, but men do cut down their trees in the forest which is their habitat for paper and things
People often hunt owls to use their feathers, beaks, and other parts of their bodies.
Habitat loss is the biggest issue threatening the population of owl butterflies. Loss of food sources and killing for their beautiful bodies are also issues that plague these insects.
