First off, check your engine coolant tank. If it's low, then that's the problem. Put more coolant in. If it's at the correct level, then look to see if there's gunk buildup. Second, is your engine overheating? If the engine is not overheating, and there is gunk buildup in the coolant tank, then you may just need to clean the sensor. If there is no gunk in your tank, your coolant level is fine, and your engine is not overheating, then it may be a bad sensor, and you need to replace it.
just like was said, coolant low or bad switch,or needs air bled from the line
I had this problem with my 95 Regal. I bellieve GM cars with the same module as the Chevrolet Lumina are Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Buick Regal, Pontiac Grand Prix and Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. The problem is a bad spark plug near the rear of the engine and/or wire set. Had all plugs and and the wire set replaced and the light stopped blinking. Other symptoms: False ABS Light, Check Engine Light, and Engine Stutter when held at 2000 RPMS.
genarally needs topping up with water ?????
The service engine soon light on an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme notifies the driver that it is time to change the oil. It is trigger around the 3,000 mile mark at regular intervals.
Low coolant level in the expansion tank.
Check coolant level in RADIATOR when cold When light is blinking turn on heat and see if you have any. If no heat good indication that thermostat is stuck in closed position and needs to be replaced
Check the fluid level in the Saturn. Check the water pump and thermostat for failure. If they are not working the engine will overheat and the light will blink.
If you are talking about the low coolant light then it is just low of coolant. Add coolant to the recovery tank. If you are talking about the coolant temperature light, then the engine is overheating. You may need to have the cooling system serviced. Drain the coolant and flush the system. Install a new thermostat, and add a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water.
Either the chip in your key is worn or the contacts in the key cylinder are bad.
Possibly because you still have an air pocket in the system because of not bleeding properly. Low coolant typically means just that. You need to bleed the air out completely before the light will go out. If the entire cooling system, not just the radiator is not full of fluid the light will continue to stay on. Could also be the sensor on the radiator on the passenger side...
It could be the brake fluid reservoir is low and is telling you that the brakes need attention.
It's on top of the brake pedal under the dash.
