Best Answer

Simply because the HST is in space - it doesn't get affected by the Earth's atmosphere or light pollution - as ground-based telescopes do. Therefore the images it produces are much more detailed.

When was the hubbe speca telescopes HST first launchad into orbit?

The HST was only launched once, in 1990 .

What are advantages HST?

the advantages of the HST is that they can see deeper into the universe and see clearer past the atmosphere compared to other land based telescopes.

Why does the HST get better pictures than a telescope earth?

The Hubble Space Telescope doesn't get affected by the Earth's Atmosphere. It also has the advantage of being in space so the quality and variety of images are a lot greater then any optical telescopes on Earth.

Why are images from the hubble telescope clearer than images from the telescopes on earth?

Because of the atmosphere. The atmosphere distorts light (this is also why stars 'twinkle'), where as the HST, free from this, faces no interference.

Why did edwin powell hubble stop launching hubble telescopes?

He never launched such a telescope. It is named after him. He died in 1953, the HST was launched in 1990.

When was the HST created?

Are there any new versions of the Hubble Telescope?

No - though the James Webb Space Telescope will be a partial successor, it's primary observation will be in the infrared spectrum, and will not be sensitive to all light wavelengths that HST currently observes. JWST's primary mission is to observe the faintest objects in the universe. There are several other space telescopes; HST is just the most noted and has the most capability. The telescopes in NASA's "Great Observatories" program are:Hubble Space Telescope (HST)Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO)Chandra X-ray Observatory (CXRO)Spitzer Space Telescope (SST) - Named for Lyman Spitzer, "Father of the Space Telescope"Though the scheduled end of life for HST is a few years off, I wouldn't hold my breath; after working on it for many years, I and many others know that the importance of HST to NASA as a PR tool is invaluable, as well as the amount of data it brings to the scientific community. I'd be willing to bet they'll conjur up another Servicing Mission at some point.

How has the Hubble space telescope helped NASA?

Most large earth bound telescopes cannot see clear images of objects in deep space. Our. atmosphere distorts the pictures with shimmery air. The HST (Hubble Space Telescope) has the advantage because it is in space and has almost no distortion. It can see much farther than regular telescopes.
