Why is the S3 shift light in 92' acura integra automatic flashing?

The S3 light flashes when the main fuel relay is exposed to direct sun light or if the cabin temp gets too high. You can open the windows to help cool it down but on hot summer days you may be there a while. The only for sure way is to reset it. Dis connect the neg battery cable and wait at least 15 min, also in the main fuse block under the hood remove the row of fuses there are three the 7.5 is for the main fuel relay. After the 15 Min's is up reconnect the battery and return the three fuses into the fuse block. When you turn your key to the on position wait and you should hear a click or clunk near the upper left of your dash if you do your all set. If it still will not start try turning the key off and on several times until you hear the clunk. This is the only way so be patient. Some cars will start with the light flashing so if you hear the clunk but the light is still flashing turn the key on if it starts drive it you will have to shift it manually because the limp in mode you will have less power. If you have the money and this problem keeps happening replace the main fuel relay under the dash just left of steering wheel. Good luck
