the big bang theory is accepted by science because there is an incredible amount of evidence leading scientists to believe it is true. For example, it was theorized that if the big bang were true, we should see microwave radiation in a very particular way in space. And when we looked the microwave radiation was there just as predicted.
Amongst the scientific community, almost no un-biased scientist (ie, one with a PhD) doubts that our Universe began to expand (NOT explode) about 13.7 billion years ago.
Amongst the un-educated and biased general public, a sizable fraction dispute this conclusion, but none can gather a scientific basis (ie, actual experimental results) for this doubt.
The word "theory" alone should signal that the Big Bang is not the only possibility. Why do some scientists believe it is the right one? To put it simply, they feel it makes the most sense and has the most evidence to back it up.
Answer
There is great evidence for the Big Bang theory. The cosmic background microwave radiation, the ratio of hydrogen to helium, the static on a television and the hissing of Arno Penzias' and Robert Winston's telescope and possibly the darkness of the night sky are all evidence for the Big Bang.
The expansion of the Universe is inferred from the red-shift of retreating galaxies. Extrapolated backwards, it can be inferred that the Universe was once extremely small, the size of nothing, from which it must have erupted into an expanding space-time. In short, the expansion of the Universe itself is evidence for a primordial tiny dense Universe.
yes many people around the world think that the big bang is a plausable theory
Because it fits the available evidence.
A theory is something they think is true and a law is something that has be proven to be true
Yes, global warming is now accepted by the vast majority of climate scientists. It is no longer regarded as a theory but is accepted as true.
Is a scientific theory but many people believe is true
Alfred Weneger, who was a German scientist somewhere in the 1930s. Other scientists didn't believe his theories at first, but about twenty years later, his theories appeared to be true.
the natural world can be understood the universe is a single system where basic rules of physics and nature apply if there is something we dont yet understand it is because we dont yet have the proper tools or knowledge
Yes, some scientists believe in God. They might not believe everything that the Bible says is true, and just because they have the Big Bang Theory, some would argue "What created the Big Bang?"
the big bang is a theory. scientists believe that there was an explosion and now it keeps expanding. the world is 14.7 billion years old. the big bang isn't true because God created the world.
Of course they do. Scientists believe anything that they think is true.
From another source as God is narrowly defined. Depends on your point of veiw. ______________________________ Scientists do not, in general, "believe" that theories are "true". Belief is for faith, for religions. Scientists accept that a particular theory adequately explains the facts and evidence that we have acquired so far, and look for other tests that will either confirm or refute the theory. We don't "believe" in the big bang theory; we accept that it is, so far, an incomplete explanation of how the universe came to be. When other facts are discovered that contradict it, then the "big bang theory" will be modified or replaced by another hypothesis that does a better job of explaining all of the existing and new facts. People who remain committed to accepting their pretty theories in the face of facts to the contrary are not really scientists, no matter what they claim. 'Creationism' by definition is that things were created by a supernatural entity. 'Big Bang' theorists don't usually claim there was anything supernatural involved, let alone an intelligent force driving it, and also the things being created are not complex organisms, but the most basic building blocks of matter. That means that's it's not hypocritical to believe in one but not the other. However people can also believe in both, that the Big Bang was the way their creator chose to create the universe.
Well I do now one theory about the universe. It's the big bang theory. The big bang theory is a theory about how the universe was created.Scientist think that a big explosion created the universe.Scientist found lots of evidence that the big bang theory was true.
Plate tectonics is considered to be a unifying theory because a consensus finds it to be true. Most scientists believe the plate tectonics cause volcanoes and earthquakes.
Since it is a theory, it can not be determined if it is in fact true. There are some who believe it and some who do not believe it.
True scientists are not fool to believe in ghosts.
Conspiracy means in science when there's something that's an idea that might not be true , E.G:The Big Bang Theory , Scientist's theory is that the world was created by it & other religons might not believe this .
A theory is something they think is true and a law is something that has be proven to be true
A law is known to be true. There is no dispute about it. A theory is disputable. Gravity is a law, the Big Bang is a theory.
No the opposite is true actually. The law of cause and effect is one of the fundamental principles of physics. According to the Big Bang theory, all the matter and energy in the universe were concentrated in one area. This leaves the ulitmate question 'where did this energy and matter come from?' The Big Bang theory is a physical answer to an eternal question. That is why it falls short of being the ultimate theory that it claims to be. Who created the Big Bang? Things DONT just happen for the sake of it.
