I don't have the answer, but my 420 does this all the time. I know it is a bobbin problem, but cannot figure it out. I reinsert the whole bobbin contraction over and over. I'm thinking of this useless machine myself!

How do thread a bobbin on a singer golden touch and sew model 620?

The bobbin is wound in the bobbin case. You open up the slide plate and push the little lever with the bull's eye on it all the way to the left. Then you thread the needle with the thread you want on the bobbin, then pull a few inches and wrap the needle thread around the knurled knob that holds the foot onto the shaft (to keep it from slipping.) Then you push down on the foot pedal and the bobbin fills from the needle thread. Don't overfill the bobbin or it won't wind out properly.

What is the purpose of a bobbin in a sewing machine?

A bobbin winder is the part of a sewing machine that takes the thread from a spool of thread and winds it on the bobbin. The sewing machine bobbin is a mini-spool of thread, made of plastic or metal, that holds the thread that will be on the underneath portion of your fabric when you sew. The top thread comes from the spool of thread and the thread on the bottom side of your fabric comes from the bobbin. Instead of winding the thread on the bobbin by hand, long and tedious, the machine will wind it for you if you load it up correctly. Check your owner's manual for instructions. If you don't have a manual, do a google search for it by entering the name of your machine branch and the model # and it will probably find one. Also, any experienced sewer can show you how.

What size bobbin is used for Kenmore 385 16524000?

It depends on the model of the machine. If the bobbin is a top loading drop in bobbin, it's probably a class 66 bobbin. If the bobbin case is down below on the front of the machine, and you take it out to remove the bobbin, it's usually a class 15 bobbin. If you have your manual, it should tell you what bobbin you need. If you don't have your manual, go to managemylife.com, enter your model number. and you should be able to download your manual. On the newer kenmores, the model number is on a plate on the back of the machine, and will start with 385. and continue on. You need to enter the complete number. Bekhat

Any sewing machines that don't need a boben?

The Sears Kenmore Model # 385.8108 is a bobbin less model available for around $220.00 US.

How do you thread an Elna 1500 sewing machine?

First, raise the presser foot lever and turn the flywheel towards you to raise the thread take-up lever to its highest point. Next,, place your spool of thread on the horizontal post and hold in place with the spool cap. You know that little nick in the spool where you tuck your thread so the spool won't unravel? Make sure that nick is pointing to the right. Now draw your thread to the left and "click" it into the little silver loop. A 1" oval thread guide sits to the left of that silver loop; draw your thread around the left of the thread guide. Now you're going to loop your thread through the tension discs. You'll see two "cracks" in your machine. First run your thread DOWN through the RIGHT crack, then immediately UP through the LEFT crack. At the top of the LEFT crack is your silver thread take-up lever. This is probably the trickiest part of threading your machine because the lever is always kind of inside the machine. But you can do it! Pass your thread from RIGHT to LEFT through the back of the loop at the top of the silver lever. Whew! We're almost there. Now draw your thread right back down the same crack you pulled it up before. You now have two stationary guides above your needle. Pass it through the thick silver guide and then through the thin silver guide. Both of these moves are kind of a left-to-right motion. Now thread your needle from FRONT to BACK. You're done -- well, except for the bobbin. Hold your bobbin spool above the bobbin case so that it looks like a letter "P" Draw the bobblin thread from RIGHT to LEFT through the small crack in the silver part of the bobbin case, then pull the thread straight toward the back of the machine. Now turn your flywheel one revolution toward you so that your upper thread picks up the bobbin thread. Now close your bobbin cover, and SEW! Congratulations! You did it!

What is a Kenmore model 148.12070?

The lower bobbin threading is the same as most conventional sewing machines. just type "threading a bobbin" into YouTube and you'll get directions on that. The mechanics behind the 158.12271 are exactly the same, but instead of the bobbin holder facing towards to sewer, it is facing to the left of the sewer. This setup is extremely cumbersome, but if your model (which should also be series/serial number 0006784) comes attached to a desk, then you can lift the sewing machine up for better access. The tension for the upper part of the machine is extremely important! If the string is not laced properly, then the string with jam the machine. This is how you lace/thread the upper portion of your machine. On the left of the top of the machine there will be a prong. It looks like a mishapened spring. Thread the string through the center of the prong. In front of the prong is a hook-like prong, thread through so that the string is now facing downward. Underneath this hook (on the left of the side facing you) is another hook, thread through accordingly. This is the important part!! There is a dial underneath the hook, thread the string clock-wise between the washers. This device controls the tension of the upper string. Now thread the string through the hole on the thread take-up. Pull the string down and through the hook underneath the tread take up. Then through the spring/prong closest to the needle. Then finally thread the needle. Once both the upper and lower portions of the machine are threaded, thread the bobbin string by turning the crank towards you. This will cross the upper and lower strings; then pull on the upper string to lace the bobbin thread up through the throat plate. After that, there isn't much left either then maintenance. If you look at the bobbin holder, you'll notice two tabs keeping the holder in place. Pull those back, then take the threading piece, (it looks like a crescent moon) lube it up with any machine oil (I use Singer machine oil, but it really doesn't matter). Finally reassemble the bobbin holder. Some helpful tips: You can adjust the upper string tension using the dial. The silver switch labeled "U" stops the feeders. There are two cranks on the right side of the machine, one on top of the other. The large one activates the machine. The small one loosens/tightens the grip on the roller belt. There's another larger dial on the right of the side facing you it has 6 settings. 0-5. 0 is the setting for stright line sewing. 1-5 is for zig-zag stiching. Finally there is a tab. This is used to control the length of the string, and the direction of the sewing. Thanks for reading! I hope your experience with this horrible machine is better than mine.

How do you thread a Sears Kenmore model 158.14001?

Take the thread through the first thread guide which is on the right, then through the needle guide notch. Wind the thread around the tension dial and pull up to the left of the dial. Pull the thread into the thread guide at the bottom. Take the thread from front to back through the needle eye.
