Because inside the turbine is the most asinine arrangement ever. The small-diameter METAL rod, which turns the two PLASTIC gears which drive the brushes, strips down the plastic gear it contacts. To think that someone with, most likely, an engineering degree designed this POS is amazing. We used ours roughly 6 times before it failed the first time; took it to a repair shop and had it fixed for about $100.00; it lasted about four uses after that. smh.
