The flag of the United Kingdom (of which England is a part) is the Union Flag. The flag of England alone is the St Georges Cross. It's similar to US states having their own flag and also the Stars and Stripes.
Australia does not have it's own flag because it is part of the Commonwealth of England.
Because Saint George (Sant Jordi) is the patron Saint of Catalonia and the Saint Georges cross is on the city of Barcelona's coat of arms
each country that takes part has one colour of its flag on one of the five rings
St George's Cross, The Flag of England, which is part of the Union Jack (or the Flag of Great Britain)
because it was founded by a group of Dutch, English and Spanish men, so there you go. You can learn this stuff from playing fifa 12. ^ This persons answer is very wrong. It isn't an England flag it is the Saint Georges cross (Sant Jordi in Catalan) Saint George is a patron saint of Catalonia the same way he is of several different countries. It is commonly used as part of the Catalan flag or Barcelona (the city) coat of arms it has nothing to do with who founded the club.
Every country who takes part has at least one of the Olympic rings colours in its flag.
The national flag of the United Kingdom. Wales had no explicit recognition in the flag because Wales had been annexed by Edward I of England in 1282 and, from 1542 was part of the Kingdom of England when the flag of Great Britain was designed in 1606.
England is part of the United Kingdom. In the same way, the English flag (a red cross on awhite ground) is part of the Union flag. When the UK (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) is being represented the Union flag is displayed (not the Union Jack which is only flown on ships). When England is being represented at say a sporting event separate from the rest of the UK then the St. George's flag is used.
The Union Flag is a combination of the flags of England, Scotland and Ireland (as was). The red part is from the English flag and represents the cross of St. George.
The Union Jack is made up of the composite flags of England, Scotland and Ulster- the St. George's Cross of England, the St. Andrew's flag of scotland, and the St.Patrick's flag of Northern Ireland. The Welsh flag is not included, as at the time the flag was designed, Wales was legally regarded as a part of England, and so not deserving of seperate national recognition in the British flag.
Countries that used to be part of the British Empire.
