They were originally called UFO (Unique Famous Outrageous) but when they go to
the X-Factor auditions the staff said there was already a band called UFO and changed to JLS (Jack the Lad Swing) because that's there that is what there firends say about them!- THEY WERE TRYING TO MAKE THEY'RE OWN GENRE OF MUSIC ♫ NO THEY ARE NOT.
yes the above is right but it was Marvin's ex who came up with the name JLX

The name JLS was thought of by one of Marvin Humes' old girl friends.
There is a saying in England Jack the lad and there is also a music genre called New Jack Swing.
JLS, Jack the Lad Swing is a combination of the two :D x
