Depending on the type of filter it needs to be cleaned or backwashed.

Cartridge filter: Hose off. If pressure does not go down buy new cartridges

Sand filter: Backwash, if pressure does not go down replace sand

DE filter: Backwash, if pressure does not go down remove element from tank and hose off and or acid wash.

Also... always make sure you gauge is working

Why pressure gauge is called a gauge not a meter?

Because Pressure gauge measures the the differenceof pressure so it is called pressure gauge not meter.

How often should you backwash a sand filter on a above ground pool?

Sand filters usually have a pressure gauge in front of them indicating the back pressure before the filter. When the filter needs to be cleaned this pressure gets high. usually it has a red section on the gauge. When it hits the red it is time to think about back washing. If the gauge does not work as so often happens with these things. you can usually judge it from the lack of suction coming from the filter. After backwash you will note the pressure will be down and the suction will be up.

What does the check gauge lights mean on a ford explorer sports trac?

Either your oil pressure gauge is reading low , your engine temperature gauge is reading high , or your fuel gauge is reading low so your almost out of gas

How do you check the pressure on the drive motor of a mini excavator?

Put a high pressure gauge within the range of circuit pressure in the pump circuit. Lock the final drive sprocket against the frame so that it can't move. Actuate the travel lever and record the reading on the gauge.

What gauge measures both vacuum and pressure?

Gauge pressure usually refers to the pressure difference between ambient, atmospheric pressure and the pressure in a vessel or line. A gauge pressure of zero would mean that the vessel or line was at atmospheric pressure. Normally the pressures of interest are ABOVE atmospheric so the gauge pressure is positive. Vacuum gauge pressure measures how far BELOW atmospheric pressure a vessel or line is. As such vacuum gauge pressure may be measured as a negative number - or for convenience it may be reported as a positive number with the caveat that it is "vacuum gauge pressure", meaning that the reported pressure is how far atmospheric pressure is above the pressure in the vessel or line.

Why does the pressure gauge is always high on my pool?

Broken gauge, obstructed pipes, clogged baskets/filter/autochlorinator. Remove baskets, cartridges, etc, borrow a compressor like you are winterizing pool hit it with 100PSI, see if gauge works, air comes out of jets thru system. If so, you have removed the obstruction or blasted it thru.important noteBe certain that you do not apply more pressure to your filter than it is rated for. This rating is specified on the label on the side of the filter.Pvc pipe manufacturers say that PVC pipe should not be used for compressed gases. I suspect your gauge is defective or the orfice to the gauge is clogged. With the pump off, remove the gauge and then turn the pump on for a few seconds. Water should squirt out of the opening the gauge was in. If not you might be able to clear it with a gentle probe,or a small amount of air. Be very careful with compressed air. If water squirts out of the opening, it is probably your gauge. Last summer I purchased a 0-45lb guage at WalMart for $4.99. Last fall I puchased one more gauge on clearnce for $2.50, same store.

What is the primary indicator used to determine when a pool should be backwashed?

Your D.E. filter should have a pressure gauge on it. When the pressure reaches about 20 psi this is an indication your water flow is slowing down due to trapped debris in your D.E so a backwash is necesssary to flush it out.

If the absolute pressure of gas is 550.280 kPa it's gage pressure is?

Gauge pressure = absolute pressure - atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure (at sea level) is generally taken to be 101.325kPa. so the answer is (C) = 448.955 kPa

Can you drain an inground pool with the pools back wash?

Let me say first backwashing is a process for simply ridding the filter of dirt, once you backwash the pressure and cleanness of the filter will begin to collect and store more dirt from the pool, Look at the gauge at the filter remember the pressure or write it down as the pressure goes up the flow of water going back to the pool will go down to the point that very little water will go back into the pool. When the pressure is low the water flow from the filter will be high meaning that the filter is not clogged or dirty.

What does the condenser do in a refrigeration or air conditioning system?

It passes heat out of the high pressure high temp vaporized refrigerant so the it becomes a high pressure lower temperature liquid. It passes heat out of the high pressure high temp vaporized refrigerant so the it becomes a high pressure lower temperature liquid.

What is nominal pressure?

Nominal, in this context, refers to the "face value". So in this case it means what the gauge "face" is indicating. Also called gauge pressure. The difference between nominal pressure and actual pressure depends on whether gauge is a calibrated instrument and is indicating the actual pressure.Nominal pressure means rated pressure, that is a nominal pressure rating applied to vehicle parts.Scroll down to related links and look at "Definition of nominal pressure".

How do you open up the hydrostat plug in the floor in the deepest part of your pool?

It is not supposed to open unless the water pressure on the outside of the pool exceeds the pressure on the out side. so if the pool is full of water you are not going to be able to unless you are superman
