Because you dont have the engine running
THAT MEANS THE RADIATOR IS GETTING HOT, Probably you mean Why isn't the radiator getting hot. could be becaused the thermostat isn't opening or the house to the radiator is disconnected or there is no coolant in the radiator,
The cap is faulty, replace it.
Water under pressure has a higher boiling point, if the water is already hot enough to boil it will suddenly erupt when the cap is removed and pressure relieved.
With a radiator cap pressure tester. The tool usually comes along with a cooling system pressure test kit.
The PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) rating is what pressure the radiator cap is designed to hold up to but not exceed in the cooling system.
You don't. Wait for the engine to cool down to avoid getting burned before you open radiator cap.
You suck repairing your vehicle and most likely the radiator was either faulty or you messed it up in the process. Either that or you got a part that does not match your vehicle. got radiator from napa and had mechanic replace it also upper and lower hose and thermostat so why is it getting hot and leaking from cap?
A radiator cap can not only be hot, but it is holding in pressure. When the cap comes off under pressure, hot antifreeze will spray out, possibly causing injury.

On most cars if they don't have a radiator cap, then you can put it in the cooling system by pouring it in through the upper radiator hose. Even if you are suppose to do this while engine is hot DO NOT because it will have the same affect as pulling the radiator cap while hot.
The cap is faulty, replace it.
There is a white tank up by the passenger's side fender. This is the reservoir for the radiator. Do not remove the cap while the coolant is hot. The radiator itself does not have a cap on it.
It could be the thermostat. Open up the radiator cap when it is hot and see if the water is flowing in the radiator. If it is not then it may be a thermostat.
It could be that the radiator cap is not able to maintain pressure. Check the radiator cap for cracks or any other damage. Replace if necessary. DO NOT remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot.
Hot water in the radiator is under pressure and can burn you.
Do it when the car is cold if the radiator is hot fluid may be forced out when you take off the cap.
most likely it will be hot so put snow on it
