Oh, sorry, I don't have an answer but I do have similar symptoms. It then progressed to irritable neck, then I couldn't get comfortable enough in bed to sleep, and then as the night drew on I started getting painful head, neck, skull. In short, what I had was a migraine. It started with no real pain, just the weird, sensitive feeling to the right side of my face, the feeling was a cross between bruising and burning. Really weird, I've reached the age of 44 and this has never happened to me before.
The human body is a pretty interesting thing to study. The parts of the body that are least sensitive to touch are the ventral forearm & back of neck.
try her neck, earlobe, backside of her upper arms. :) some women are very sensitive on the backside of their knees.
