The terminal or apical bud is found at the end of a branch marking the end of that years growth. Growth the following year will obviously start from this point. It is different from a lateral bud which grows from the side of the branch.

What is the node on the pot plant?

The easiest way to describe the "node" is the swollen portion on the plant stem. There are a number of these that run down the length of the stem between the "narrow parts". The nodes are points along the stem where lateral buds can be found, these give rise to lateral branches or if the terminal bud is damages the next lateral bud will produce a new lateral which will form the new stem.

The difference between lateral and terminal buds?

a terminal bud occurs on the main axis of a stem,it helps in the elongation of the main axis. a lateral bud occurs on the sides of that main axis,it helps in the branching of the plant, generates new stem (secondary) to the main axis, those newly generated branches end also with terminal buds that help in their elongation and may have lateral buds to generate new branches and so on . A whole plant is simply a network of branches with lateral buds on the sides and terminal buds on the main axis.

What are all the parts of the Stem and Shoot?

The stem is the main axis of the plant to which flowers, leaves, and fruits are attached. A "shoot" is a very general term, not very scientifically accurate, but is generally used to mean an area of new growth which would consist of stem, leaves and/or flowers (a shoot from a bulb would contain all parts except for the root, a shoot from a tree would have a stem and leaves at the minimum).
