No. I believe strongly that school should be compulsory because it will become necessary to know plenty in the future, and you may regret not going to school. Maybe lessons should be optional because then children will be more enthusiastic about them because they will only be choosing the lessons they want to do, but I believe school is an essential part of a child's life. I strongly disagree school should be optional.
Also, it will not just be the person's education they are throwing away, it will be their ability to socialise with others of the same age. If children do not attend school, they will have no social life, and will not know how to socialise with others. This is why I believe school should be obligatory.
This is an idea whose time has come. Homework should indeed be optional. Anyone performing consistently at an A+ or equivalent level should have an option to do or not to do some [not all] written assignments. Teachers would still need to monitor the performance of these students to make sure that they are on track.
in my opinion homework shouldn't be compulsory. In my class we only get spelling homework it isn't very hard and it means you have more time to do more important stuff like, spending time with friends and family, and shopping.
Teachers should not be aloud (the word is 'allowed') to tell students what to do at home. It just starts arguments between kids and parents and kids and teachers. And brings down students grades if they don't do it and, or if it's wrong. It is suppose (supposed) to reinforce what is taught in class but it can end up just causing stress.
Yes, homework should stay legal. While too much home work is a bad thing, a moderate amount (2-3 hrs) will help you to better understand what you've learned in class. More than 5hrs of homework ever night shouls be illegal though, trust me, I'm there right now.
No. School isn't compulsory anyway, but education is. Education should be compulsory because living without an education in our society it is difficult to make a living or being at all respected by people in educated situations. But some children's personalities are just not compatible with the school system, but they can still be educated just as well by homeschooling or other non-school options.
yes they shouls be able to becase it is ther choice if they want to learn. people need to stop sending kids to school just for teachers to punish them for something thhat they did not have the chioce to do. i say to give kids the choice to fight back for their rights an dfreedom as people and have a say on what school they want to go to and if they even want to go to school. adults can choose their life and how it works so let us kids choose how we want to work our own lifes thats all i have to say about that if people like this comment please comment back thanks
Answer 1
Because our government enacted laws that say it is not. This is not a free country anymore.
Answer 2
School is mandatory because a democratic society requires educated people to be functional enough to vote. Legislators were also looking out for the interest of kids who would be denied future earning potential because their parents would rather have them at home (or in a workplace) performing extra labor. It has nothing to do with "how free" a country is. A non-educated workforce in the modern era is useless.
Yes school should be mandatory. If school is not mandatory then you on't have and education or even a job. If that's the way you want to live then so be it.
yes because teachers or students would not have to deal with students who dont want to be there
People who don't go to high school aren't prepared well enough to survive well in the real world, and certainly can't compete well with people who have college educations.
Do you think someone who skipped grade school could jump right into highschool? NO not at all. If grade school were optional then high school would have to be optional.. and of course college is already optional.
well it isnt as educated as i though but no it isnt a bad school!
It isnt that common though but its up to you if you want it or no its optional
No, there isnt a school of witchcraft in singapore.
That isnt really a point as ooccoo is optional but helpful as it allows you to warp in and out of temples
olive isnt american, so she isnt in any grade. she goes to school in london and is in year 9 (2013)
Making school uniforms optional can allow students to express their individuality through their clothing choices. However, uniforms can also promote a sense of equality and unity among students, regardless of their socioeconomic status. It ultimately depends on the goals of the school and the community it serves.
its both free and compulsory
the homework we had today was optional because we were really good in school today ......but still everyone did it
because kids need to go to school and get an education and do something with there lives
[In Order] Nursery, Reception, Primary School, High School, College, University - which is actually optional
