In a river, flowing water exerts a force on the swimmer. To cross the river or to swim upstream the swimmer has to overcome this resistive force. This requires spending a lot of energy.
As there is no flow of water in a swimming pool, the swimmer does not have to overcome the resistive force as in river. Hence it is easier to swim in swimming pool than in a river.
Because of the salt in it. Fresh water of 10 degrees Celsius has a density of 999.728 kilograms per cubic meter. Seawater of 10 degrees Celsius and of 3.5 % salinity has a density of 1026.978 kilograms per cubic meter.
It is because the salt dissolved in the seawater makes it thicker or denser than the water in swimming pool. As a result, you will not sink so easily. In fact if you go to the Dead Sea in the Jordan valley you will be not able to sink at all. This is because of the extremely high concentration of dissolved mineral salts in the water, which will keep your body bobbing like a cork
The ocean contains dissolved salt, therefore its density if higher than the fresh water in a river. It is easier to swim in higher density liquids because you float better as less water needs to be displaced to allow you to remain on the surface of the water.
Your bodies density is the same whether you are in seawater or freshwater but the actual density of the water itself is greater in the seawater because with the salt in there there are more particles of substance packed into one area. One of the elementary rules of density is that the denser object will sink faster than the less dense one.
You can look at it like a fraction...
Say your density is 20 units and the density of saltwaters is 60 and freshwaters is 50.
20/50 = rate that you sink in the freshwater
20/60 = rate that you sink in the saltwater
20/50 > 20/60 so the rate that you sink in freshwater is greater than the rate that you sink in saltwater.
Density = Mass / Volume
Mass is determined by the effect of gravity on an object. The higher up you go the weaker gravity goes and if gravity gets smaller than so does mass. A smaller mass divided by the same volume gives you a smaller number, hence the decrease.
Salt water is denser and, therefore, more buoyant than fresh water so less of your energy is expended keeping afloat, and more is used to propel you along. Phil
because of the extra salt in salt water, it is denser. therefore you float better
Sea water is more dense (heavy) than fresh river water and thus more buoyant and holds you up - you do not need to work as hard to stay afloat
a example: A hot girl is so hot she wants to get in pool then she drinks water to get energy to get back in the pool and swim.
52 laps in a 25-meter per lap pool.
Sympathetic nervous - apex :)
We know that the density of the sea water is more than the density of the river water. So, the weight of displaced sea water is more than the weight of displaced river water. This weight gives the upward Buoyant force to the swimmer. Thus, the apparent weight of the swimmer is less in the sea water. Hence he finds it easier to swim in the sea water.
I love this joke. Yes! a one legged duck does swim in a circle. :-)
yes turtles can swim in a swimming pool unless you have clorokx then you canot have them in ur pool
swimming, as in a swimming pool
No
yes it is illegal to swim in a swimming pool that is closed
Not if you know how, plus it's the best exercise for the body. However this also depends on where you are swimming at. It is far more risky to swim, say, in a river then in a swimming pool.
in a swimming pool
Swimming.
because its a pool you swim in. As opposed to a wading or play pool that is very shallow and does not permit swimming because of lack of depth. To be a swimming pool it must have sufficient depth to be able to swim in. For most people that requires a minimum depth of 3 feet.
If you can't swim then join swimming lessons at a local pool or get your mum or dad to teach you in a pool. Swimming is easy to learn when you join. If you are in the pool or sea and you get cramp ect ect do sculling or put your hand up and shout "CRAMP!" im sure someone will help asap.
You can swim usually 24-36 hours after you add the liquid.
All swim clubs are different. Please check with your local pool.
